Multnomah County Online Voters' Guide

MULTNOMAH COUNTY - County Commissioner, District 4

Ken Quinby

KEN QUINBY

OCCUPATION: Property management/maintenance

OCCUPATIONAL BACKGROUND: Industrial hydraulics

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: High School graduate; Portland Community College: general studies

PRIOR GOVERNMENTAL EXPERIENCE: Fairview City Council 1998-2002, 2004-; Fairview Budget Committee 1998-2002, and 2004-; East Multnomah Economic Alliance, Board of Directors; Gresham/Fairview/Wood Village Solid Waste Citizens Advisory Committee 1998-2001; Multnomah County Emergency Management Policy Board 1998-2000; Regional Emergency Management Group – Policy Board 1998-2002, 2004-; Chair: Fairview Veteran's Day Celebration; Completed: Teaming with Law Enforcement “Managing Local Government Public Safety Services”

It's nice to have a background in business assistance or law enforcement, but this position requires far more. It's no place for political beginners. Although I'm no career politician, I've spent thousands of volunteer hours, over 10 years making government work for the people. I'm a proven, strong, effective voice for common sense in local leadership, simply doing what's right. I can make tough decisions affecting your tax dollars

We must re-evaluate current programs for effectiveness & waste first, not create new taxes. Smarter decisions must be made. It's long past time to think outside the box and my record shows I do that

You won't find a list of campaign promises here, designed to appease PAC's and minority groups, just my promise to listen to everyone and do my very best for all. I am open, honest and I create solutions

Today's hot topic will soon move on to other issues, so don't pick candidates whose background's focus on one or two issues. Be confident that who you elect can deal effectively with every new issue that arises, because they surely will.

Before you vote, ask the associates of the candidates if they are really trusted, true, effective leaders.

In three past elections, I have only sought the endorsement of you the voters, but you can check my website: ken4county.com for a constantly updated list of supporters.
