I have actively supported various youth sports programs including handicapped children and Apprenticeship Programs.
As State Representative I sponsored a Referendum requiring notice to landowners of any changes in public law or regulation which would limit use of their property. Over 80 percent of voters approved this statewide measure. As a small business owner in Portland, I understand the challenges the City's economic climate presents to existing businesses and those considering bringing a new business to our area. I will be attentive to opportunities to make Portland more business friendly. My record of public service and business experience is established. I am a strong, decisive leader capable of getting things done. By remaining independent of any designated special interests, I have dealt with issues on their merits while standing up for my principles. I deeply believe in the importance of community and the need for us to care for one another. We all share concerns about crime, violence and drugs, gangs, graffiti, government spending and high taxes, jobs that pay living wages, and expanding opportunities for women and minorities. Working together we will succeed. I would appreciate your vote on May 20th .
