Multnomah County Online Voters' Guide
May 2008 Primary Election

MULTNOMAH COUNTY - County Commissioner, District 3

Rob Milesnick

ROB MILESNICK

OCCUPATION: Legislative Advocate – ODS Health Plans.

OCCUPATIONAL BACKGROUND: Oregon Judicial Department – Multnomah County DUII Intensive Supervision Program.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: J.D. – Syracuse University; B.A. – Virginia Commonwealth University.

PRIOR GOVERNMENTAL EXPERIENCE: Citizen Review Committee, Portland.

Rob Milesnick wants to take the ego out of county government.

Lately, county commissioners haven't spent enough time listening to us. When they finally do ask for our opinion, the decisions have been made.

Rob Milesnick wants to change all that. Because the decisions the county makes are too important for us to be left out of the process.

“Rob has two qualities essential for a leader: he's willing to listen and he's willing to work hard.”

- Governor Barbara Roberts

Make our county healthier
“Rob knows that everyone should have access to high quality, affordable healthcare regardless of their income.”

- State Representative Mitch Greenlick

Make our county safer
Rob wants drug treatment options for non-violent offenders, increased awareness of community mental health needs, and to finally open Wapato Jail.

Improve our county's schools
Rob's top education priority is stable funding for the County's innovative SUN schools so they can keep helping our kids succeed.

Make our county a model of sustainability
Rob will use creative transportation solutions and green building practices to preserve our quality of life for future generations.

The people who make the County work, members of AFSCME Local 88, want to work with Rob.

“Rob is a fresh voice and a new leader for Multnomah County. His energy, ideas, and ability to mediate conflict and bring people together are needed now, more than ever.”

- Beverly Stein, Former Multnomah County Chair
